Little Blue, 2021
Public Installation
steirischer-herbst festival, Commission
Graz, Austria
Speaking to the innocence of a younger generation, the work asks how the youth might envision finding their way out of the catastrophic world they are being left with (viruses, environmental degradation, etc.) - a melancholy reference to the saying “We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.” Little Blue personifies the importance of the nature path with her steady, determined gait into the intense, welcoming green of the woods.

Migratory Levels of Being, 2021
Painted Photo-Collage
Exit Through the Pir's Vision
The Tariqa Much Taken
Surrender or The Rush to Fanaprix
Deported or The Return to an Inner Attention
Merging the experience of the spiritual inner migration characterising the journey within Sufism and the harsh external migration of Afghans trying to reach the UK through France, the work provides a playful yet complicated story that simultaneously references the mythology of unicorns and the way in which they symbolise not only hope, but the ability to move between worlds.
